Overview

WorkSafe have mandated the requirement for all persons appointed to a statutory position in the mining industry to hold approved health and safety risk management units. Make sure you are compliant before the transitional arrangements expire on 31 March 2026.

During this course, you will work through simulated scenarios, and review the regulations, to provide context to complete the templates and reports that must be submitted for the assessment to complete the units of competency. 

If you are unable to get to the classroom, the units of competency are available to complete online.

This course is for those who are currently appointed as statutory position holders as well as those required to step up into those roles.

Content

In this course you will cover:

  • Applicable health and safety legislation
  • Hazard identification and risk control
  • WHS management systems
  • Risk assessment and management.

Learning Outcomes

You will complete scenario-based activities, based on a simulated workplace, to complete the following units of competency:

  • BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management
  • BSBWHS411 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs

On successful completion of all assessment tasks and payment of fees, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for the units completed.

Note: You will need to bring your own device to the training program so you can work on the scenarios in the training room.
