Cullen Announces Departure from AIM WA

AIM Press Release
1 June 2011

Patrick Cullen announced today that, after 16 years in his role as Executive Director of the Australian Institute of Management Western Australia, he will be stepping down at the end of this year. He said “After a most enjoyable and successful term at the Institute it is time to step down and move on to a new challenge.”

Under Mr Cullen’s leadership, AIM WA has significantly grown its presence in Western Australia and is now the largest private sector provider of management and leadership development in Western Australia. The Institute is also now active in management and leadership development in Malaysia, Indonesia, China and India.

Chairman and President of AIM WA, Keith Spence, said “Patrick continues to excel in his role, and the Board and Members are very grateful for his splendid leadership. The Institute has grown by a factor of four during his time, and he has built a strong team in the organisation. The Institute is extremely well positioned for the future.”

“Patrick will work with the Board to ensure a smooth transition to the new Executive Director.”

His stepping down from the Executive Director role positively coincides with the Institute’s completion of a new Six Star Green Star rated Learning and Development Centre, which has been led by Mr Cullen over the past fourteen months. The new Centre will double the Institute’s future training capacity.

A national search will now begin to fill the Executive Director role and it is expected that an announcement will be made on the new appointment later this year.
