For many years the Australian Institute of Management WA (AIM) has played a significant role in the WA business community, and beyond. The Institute’s mission is to improve the performance of Managers, Leaders and Organisations, and one way to achieve this Mission is to support the broader WA community through the provision of a number of Management Development Scholarships every year.
AIM continues to provide this support because often the not-for-profit sector works extremely hard to raise capital to achieve its fundamental goals, but sometimes can not afford funds for staff and business development.
AIM presented 40 Scholarships earlier this year. Here Patrick Cullen, Executive Director AIM, is presenting one to Leslie Delaforce.

Scholarships are awarded in two main categories:
Not-for-Profit Organisations
The Organisational Scholarships invite eligible organisations from civic and voluntary groups, charitable and welfare groups, church groups and other Not-for-Profit organisations to apply.
Individuals
The Individual Scholarship Award invites both Young Professionals and Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders to apply. The Individual Scholarships Award will include a significant package of training and development.
The Young Professional Scholarship is targeted for people new into the workforce with little or no experience, just starting out in their career. Individuals from Not-for-Profit industries are also encouraged to apply.
The Institute places strong importance on its provision of these annual Scholarships, which may be awarded in the fields:
- Personal Development and Professional Skills
- General Management and Leadership
- Supervision, Frontline Management and OHS
- Project Management and Process Improvement
- Sales and Marketing
- HR, Training, Finance and Admin
- Computer & IT.
